The Joel R. Anderson Family Foundation is a private charitable foundation based in Florence, Alabama.

Our mission is to empower nonprofit entities in their efforts to build and support a prosperous and healthy community where all Shoals residents have equal chances to live, work, and thrive.

Funding Priorities

Priority will be given to groups based in the Shoals region working in the areas of:

  • Education

  • Child and Family Welfare

  • Arts & Culture

  • Community Health, Wellness, and Recreation

  • Community Events

  • Animal Welfare

Funding Eligibility Criteria:

  1. The organization's work must align with our mission to improve and sustain a vibrant and healthy community.

  2. The organization must be a registered nonprofit entity. (501(c)3)

  3. The organization must be willing to provide a project budget and two years of historical financial information (when available)

  4. The organization must primarily serve the residents of the Shoals region.

  5. The organization must submit a clear and realistic plan to support the project’s initiatives

  6. The Foundation tends to favor initiatives that provide new opportunities or services for Shoals residents. The Foundation tends not to provide funding for general nonprofit operating expenses or overhead costs.
